AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that breaks conventional predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Uncovered
According to the authorized release, "A strange encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of banned ceremonies and fearsome changes echo through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine sect.
The adventure centers on "bizarre tests and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an unique katana together with several artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke

This release also adds the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks scarcely the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime franchises. The series earlier featured a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla subtly featured a quest that unmistakably referenced the popular series One-Punch Man.
